Welcome….bienvenue

We have two modernised family-owned properties in the village of Seillans (Provence, Southeast France) which we have been letting each year since 1994. The larger 3-storey 19th century farmhouse once had an adjoining watermill powered by a perennial stream (hence its full name: La Bastide du Vieux Moulin). Just below it is an outhouse (Le Cabanon) once used as a cheese factory. The smaller one-storey villa 100 metres up the hill from the farmhouse is a more modern building with its own entrance.

Both properties have drawn writers: five books were written in whole or in part in the houses which themselves have been featured in the international press. Apart from published authors, the politicians, judges, actors, journalists, artists and many others who have come to stay have liked the tranquillity and anonymity of the properties, while being only a short walk from the medieval village.

Near both houses there are lots of spaces for meals, and many recreational (and romantic!) spots. There is a 5 X 12-metre oval pool with large stone surround, and a Raj tent for when the sun gets too hot. There are two portable ping-pong tables available.

There are two large patios with long tables, perfect for alfresco lunches and dinners, and there is a Weber gas-fired barbecue. The garden of seven acres is made up of walled terraces, oleander and rose bushes, groves of fruit trees (150 olive trees, cherries, figs, apples, plums, hazel-nuts, walnuts and pomegranates), and large paddocks on both sides of the stream. The property offers a rare combination of total seclusion, but short, easy and car-free access to the village along one of the paths through the grounds.

The Lac de Saint Cassien (about 20 minutes away) has swimming, boating and a waterpark. There are two golf-courses within 20-30 minutes. The coast (Frejus and Saint Raphael) is about 40 minutes to the South. Our personal guide provides details of restaurants, markets and all surrounding attractions.
